Sometimes the best way to gain interest is to be a little different. For an American Red Cross – Dallas Area Chapter fundraising luncheon, I decided to tell the story of the Red Cross in Dallas through Clara Barton’s voice. She visited Dallas in 1887 during a drought, a fact most Dallasites don’t know.

The script was delivered by an actress in a Red Cross nurse costume. I think this offered a unique, compelling way to deliver both a history message and a message about the good work the Red Cross does in Dallas.
