Banning the Lazy, Hazy Doldrums

Working in the summer in Dallas is often an exercise in self-discipline, banning the lazy, hazy doldrums. It’s HOT, and I’d love to be north, maybe Canada. But some people choose to do hard, physical work outside in the heat for the best of reasons – to help others. The Youth Mission Group for The Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration has returned from their Appalachian journey to Hancock County, Tennessee. There they helped three families by building a new tin roof, digging a huge drainage ditch, and constructing a plumbing system.
